
Trellis Research, a Los Angeles, CA-based comprehensive AI-powered state court research and analytics platform built for litigators, raised $14.1m in Series A funding round, bringing Trellis’ total fundraising to $20 million.
The round was led by Headline, with participation from Calibrate Ventures, Craft Ventures, and Revel Partners, with participation from angel investors Colin Stretch, former general counsel of Facebook, Julius Genachowski, the former FCC Chairman, David Hantman, former head of public policy at Airbnb, Eddie Lazarus, EVP Sonos, and Matt Mazza, general counsel at Appfolio.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product expansion and hiring efforts, to expand its use cases beyond the legal vertical, and to introduce the platform to other adjacent industries that need access to its data including real estate and property management, financial services, and insurance.
