Solarize Raises €4.3 Million in Seed Round

by Kay Aloha Villamor in October 18th, 2022

Solarize, a Germany-based startup that provides solutions for the energy transition, raised €4.3 million in seed funding.

The round was led by new investor Point Nine (which backed Gourmey), with participation from existing investors, including Picus Capital.

Solarize will use the funds to develop its microgrid operating system further. The company will also use these funds to drive its expansion into international markets, with a focus on the Western markets, and to grow its meter-to-cash SaaS platform.

The SaaS solution combined with smart metering allows billing and comprehensive plant monitoring. The collected data can quickly take remedial action through error messages in the event of plant or meter failure.

“We are advancing decentralization in the energy sector on a daily basis and are working with our software solution to create a world in which onsite power generation becomes the new normal,” said Frederik Pfisterer, founder and CEO of Solarize. He has previously helped to build one of the most successful SaaS companies with Mambu.com – one of Germany’s unicorns.

Solarize is currently implementing more than 30 projects across Germany.

The company is mission-driven and motivated with a goal to produce electricity locally in all commercial areas by 2030 – supported by the microgrid operation system.

The Solarize team has tripled in size during 2022.
