Noggin HQ Raises £2.3M Seed
Newcastle-based fintech Noggin HQ has raised £2.3m in an oversubscribed seed round. The company provides alternative credit scoring technology that utilizes permissioned banking transaction data to help lenders identify creditworthy customers often overlooked by traditional systems.
Investors
The round was led by Blackfinch Ventures. Additional participants included Oxford Capital, Bethnal Green Ventures, and domain-specific angel investors including Alastair Douglas.
Noggin HQ Use of Funds
The funding will support the company as it transitions from successful pilot programs into wider market adoption following its recent authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority to act as a credit reference agency.
About Noggin HQ
Founded in 2026 by childhood friends Evangeline Atkinson and Laura Mills, Noggin HQ aims to modernize credit referencing. The company was created to address shortcomings in the credit market after the founders experienced difficulty accessing credit despite being in full-time employment, and it now provides cashflow-based credit data to FCA-authorised lenders.
